Humane Society holds Adopt-A-Bull party

Posted on April 8, 2010 at 3:49 PMCHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Humane Society is holding a special “Adopt-A-Bull” party this Saturday, featuring pit bulls that are available for adoption.
The party is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the shelter’s parking lot, which is located at 2700 Toomey Avenue.
During the month of April, pit bulls and pit bull mixes at the shelter have reduced adoption fees of $55 instead of $110.
At the party Saturday, shelter staff and volunteers will be on hand to educate people about pit bulls and myths of the breed, which prevent many people from adopting the dogs.
“We sincerely hope that by enlightening potential adopters about the benefits of this loving breed, new homes will be found for these wonderful dogs,” Assistant Executive Director Kristi Perman said in a news release.
