Bonnie–check around with other insurance agents from other companies that serve your area. There are a few non-breed-specific insurance companies like State Farm that serve most states (however, companies in areas with BSL may have different rules). Individual agents can also set their own rules. And some companies make exceptions for individual dogs that are of a blacklisted breed, but who have passed a Canine Good Citizen test and gotten a certificate. Anyway, call around and see what you can do. When you find a company that will accept you as a customer regardless of your dog’s breed, make the switch, then write a letter to your old carrier letting them know why they won’t be seeing another dollar of your money. Good luck to you!
