TAMPA, FL — A group of seniors is about to get an unusual brand of therapy. They won’t have to go anywhere and the experience won’t cost them a dime, but the rewards are priceless.

Today, Jasmine the pit bull will visit residents at the Fountains Assisted Living Facility in Tampa. Pit bulls often get a bad reputation for being aggressive but Jasmine is a Certified Animal Assistance Therapy Pet. She’s also a Pit Bull Ambassador for the Hillsborough County Animal Shelter.

Jasmine has passed several tests to ensure she’s safe and sure to bring a smile to anyone she visits.

That was certainly the case earlier this month when Jasmine visited the Emeritus at Carrollwood.

  1. Hi, I am a happy pit bull owner. I am sorry for your loss. I see people look bad upon my dog who is only 9 months. When he was 4 months I took him camping, he loved to play in the water. But if there was other dogs there people would get nervous and move some were else or look at my bruno bad but he was only 4 months just a baby. It is sad that people dont get to see what these kind of dogs are all about. Bruno is my best friend, he loves to make me happy. I have 2 other dogs and I dont get as much affection from them as I do Bruno. If I was to lose Bruno I would be the same.

  2. I am so sorry about your sweet dog, I have a rescued 3 year old pit bull named Crusher (he crushes us with love) he is the sweetest, most loyal trustworthy dog ever. I do not think I could have handled anyone making me give my dog away. I do pray you found your sweet dog a good home. These laws are very unfair and lots of people are fighting against these types of bans. I have had other breeds of dogs, but honestly our last dog a Sheltie was not trustworthy he nipped at kids, my pit bull lets kids climb all over him and he gives kisses!
