I told myself I wouldn't get anything with even a hint of pittie in it, but when I met Miss M. I knew she was meant to be my dog. We did a lot of work educating ourselves and training our dogs, and we work extra hard to have our pooches serve as good role models. We both work in inner-city high schools where many of our students and/or their communities are involved in dogfighting. We're just trying to spread the word about the importance of responsible pet ownership. I had the same experience when I adopted my first dog. She is a pitbull with a mohawk basically and just over a year old when we got her in February. After a month or so of being nervous and skittish, she is blossoming into the lovliest girl we could have asked for. Star is affectionate, gentle, playful, curious, and loves to snuggle in bed or on the couch. You are correct in that whenever we mention that Star is part pitbull, the red flags go up. To be honest, I had those same misconceptions myself. We are just grateful that they have been totally shattered. Thanks for another site to visit.
