"This is our guy, Rocky, and we love him so much! He is such a sweet dog. We got him from the local human society about 11 months ago. Luckily, whoever had owned him before us had taken the time to train and socialize him and had not cropped his ears or tail. Like you, I was a little afraid to own a pit bull at first, but we quickly warmed up to each other and we are all one big happy family now.... But, we also get a lot of dirty looks from neighbors and people at the park. Once they meet him, they see how sweet he is, but they are very reserved at first. People scoop up their kids or small dogs and run the other way. We try to educate the ignorant people as much as possible, but it seems like for every bit of good we do, there is another story on the news about “pit bulls” attacking unprovoked or the cops breaking up an illegal dog fighting ring. It just breaks my heart."
